About Me

Claire Portrait

Acupuncture dramatically improved my health and wellbeing many years ago and I was awed by its ability to restore and realign mind, body and spirit.

Experiencing the power of this beautiful medicine has never left me, and so, years later, ‘Shen Life’ acupuncture was born.

I hold a Licentiate in Acupuncture, having graduated from the prestigious classical Chinese medicine college, The Acupuncture Academy, in Leamington Spa. This three year honours degree level course is fully accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board (BAAB - www.baab.co.uk) and meets the W.H.O standards for professional acupuncture training. I am also fully insured and a member of the British Acupuncture Council and The Association of Acupuncture Clinicians, self-regulatory bodies for professional acupuncturists maintaining high standards of training and safe practice.

My training has been extensive, covering the full scope of general acupuncture practice and theory and western bio-medicine, as well as specialist training for vulnerable groups.

I work collaboratively with conventional healthcare and provide a safe and professional practice.

Philosophy and life…

I truly believe that the greatest wealth we can have in life is health.

I am passionate about doing my small part in contributing to a healthcare system that integrates both Eastern and Western practice, for the greater good of the individual.

I have already seen the impact of acupuncture on an emotional and physical level as my patients report feeling stronger, more resilient and supported in life. A humbling and inspiring testament to the power of acupuncture and of regaining ownership of your own health.

I live in a small village near Thame with my husband and three children. I love to run and walk in the local countryside and spend time on the west coast of Ireland where we enjoy the wild seas and the raw beauty of nature. I love to read, listen to good music and enjoy life with my family.
